Field Group Default

Overview 

This document will help user to understand new changes on "Field Group" feature.  Field Group is used to group field to related functionality in window. 

 

In Vienna Advantage Framework 4.0.0.0 release. By default, all the field groups of window were closed at the time of opening window. User has click on expand icon to see the all field of that group. 

 

This release of Vienna Advantage Framework 4.1.0.0 , fields groups will remain open by default. However, user has option to show some fields by default. If user wants to see all the fields of that group, then user has to click "show more" text on field group. 

Product Version and dependency 

Composite View feature is supported by the below-mentioned modules:  

  1. Vienna Advantage Framework Version-  4.1.0.0 

  2. Vienna Advantage Base Files – 1.0.13.0 

 

After modules update "Field Group Default" checkbox will display on the "Field" tab of "Window, Tab & Field" window. 

If this checkbox is checked on any field. On window that field will show under respective field group very first time and other fields of same group having this checkbox unchecked will not display. In case user wants to see all fields, on clicking "Show More" or "Field Group" rest of the field will show. 

How to set Field Group Default 

To enable field group default, the user needs to follow below-mentioned steps; 

 

  1. Log in with system administrator role  

  2. Open "Window, Tab & Field" window  

  3. Select the desired window and check "Composite View" checkbox  

  4. Navigate to "Tab" section, select desired tab. 

  5. Navigate to "Field" section 

  6. Search and select the desired field 

  7. Check "Field Group Default" checkbox 

  8. Run "Cache Reset" process from menu  

  9. Open window, in below shown example window has "Amount" field group. "Amount" and "Currency" field are in this group. On "Currency" field "Field Group Default" checkbox is cheeked. 

  1. When user clicks on "Show More" or "Field Group", system will show all the fields of same group and text changes from "Show More" to "Show Less".

  1. When user clicks on "Show Less", then text will changed to "Show More" and  System will Show those fields  having "Field Group Default" checkbox is checked. Rest of the fields of that field group will be hide. 

  2. When user clicks on collapse icon on field group, then system hide all field under respective field. Also "Show More" or "Show Less" text will hide 

Note: If no field for any field group is marked as "Field Group Default", then System will not display any field in that field group until user clicks "show more" link button in group.
