Ver 2.0.1.0 - Nullable Dimension Enhancement

This section describes the details of the “Include Nullable Dimension” feature introduced by Vienna Advantage In Module Financial Management <2.0.1.0> . Users can now select the “Include Nullable Dimension” at the Report Line Set tab.   

Include Nullable Dimension enhancement has been developed so that the system fetches the null data value for the selected dimension(s) from the Ledger Account Detail window. Earlier user needs to define different row sets, one with dimensional value and other row with nullable dimensional value and then adding them both but now the user can select a particular dimensional value and null value both at a same time by using Include Nullable Dimension functionality. 

Include Nullable Dimension dropdown to show the checkbox(s) list according to "Type" selected for the respective Row Line Set.   

  • If "Activity" has been selected in the "Type" field then in "Include Nullable Dimension" will show dimension as per selected Type dimension and if "All Dimension" has been selected in the "Type" field then all the dimensions to show (as per Balance Aggregation)  

Refer to some of the cases regarding "Include Nullable Dimension".  

 

Case 1: 

When the field Type is selected as Business Partner and  "Business Partner" field is blank and in the "Include Nullable Dimension", Business Partner checkbox has been selected as True. 

Selected Fields as below: 

Type -> BPartner 

Business Partner -> left blank 

Include Nullable Dimension -> BPartner 

In this case, system will check and fetch the data of the respective ledger from Ledger Account Detail window where the "Business Partner" dimension is null (and system will not include any data where BPartner dimension found against posting). 

Case 2: 

When Type is selected as BPartner ,"Business Partner'' dimension field has been selected and in "Include Nullable Dimension" checkbox has been selected as True. 

Selected Fields as below: 

Type -> BPartner 

Business Partner -> Mittal Cement 

Include Nullable Dimension -> BPartner 

In this case, the system will check and fetch the data of the respective ledger from the Ledger Account Detail window where the Business Partner dimension contains the selected value (i.e Mittal Cement) or Business Partner is null. 

Case 3: 

When Type has been selected as "All Dimension", "Include Nullable Dimension" checkbox BPartner and Product has been selected as True, No Dimension value is selected in any dimension fields and field Any value of Unselected dimension is true 

Selected Fields as below: 

Type -> All Dimension 

Include Nullable Dimension -> BPartner, Product 

Any value of Unselected -> True 

In this case, the system will check and fetch the data of the respective ledger from the Ledger Account Detail window where the BPartner and Product dimension has Null value or any other value found of other dimension except BPartner and Product. 

Case 4: 

When Type has been selected as "All Dimension", "Include Nullable Dimension" checkbox BPartner and Product has been selected as True and No dimension value is selected in dimension fields (any value of unselected dimension as False). 

Selected Fields as below: 

Type -> All Dimension 

Include Nullable Dimension -> BPartner, Product 

Any value of Unselected -> False 

In this case, the system will check and fetch the data of the respective ledger from the Ledger Account Detail window where the BPartner and Product dimension has Null value 

(with considering other dimension value like Campaign and Project should also be null as "Any value of unselected dimension" is False) 

Case 5: 

When Type has been selected as "All Dimension", "Include Nullable Dimension" checkbox BPartner and Product has been selected as True and Dimension value has been selected (any value of unselected dimension as True) 

Selected Fields as below: 

Type -> All Dimension 

Include Nullable Dimension -> BPartner, Product 

Business Partner -> Mittal Cement 

Any value of Unselected -> True 

In this case, the system will check and fetch the data of the respective ledger from the Ledger Account Detail window where: 

  • Business Partner contains "Mittal Cement" and the Product dimension value is null  

  • Business Partner and Product both dimensions are null  

  • Any other value found of other dimension except BPartner and Product. 

 

Case 6: 

When Type has been selected as "All Dimension", "Include Nullable Dimension" checkbox BPartner and Product has been selected as True. Business Partner dimension has been selected and Dimension value has been selected (any value of unselected dimension as False) 

Selected Fields as below: 

Type -> All Dimension 

Include Nullable Dimension -> BPartner, Product 

Business Partner -> Mittal Cement 

Any value of Unselected -> False 

 

In this case, the system will check and fetch the data of the respective ledger from the Ledger Account Detail window where: 

  • Business Partner contains Mittal Cement and other dimensional data (Campaign, Project, Product are null)  

  • Business Partner and Product both dimensions are null and other dimensional data (Campaign, Project).
