Enhancement for displaying column names based on selected period/year - 2.3.3.0

Financial Report Form Enhancement 

1. Objective 

The primary purpose of this document is to introduce a new feature at the report column set tab, displaying Column Names in the report output based on the selected 'column type' as 'Year/ Period'. This ensures that the displayed names in the report output align seamlessly with the user's preferences and reporting requirements. The specific enhancement provides user with a more relevant, user-friendly and informative representation of data in the reports. This will help in reducing the likelihood of misinterpretation for column names. 

2. Enhancement Point 

2.1 Display Column Name based on selected ‘Column Type’ as “Year/Period”  

In the standard Financial Report Form, previously there was no provision to generate a financial report with column name as actual defined period. As the column names were fixed and the system only displayed the column name entered in the “header label” field.  

But now the recent update allows the users to print column names based on configuration settings of selected Year or period on the ‘Report Column Set’ tab and the Report parameters. Additionally,  this ensures that the system fetches and displays accurate column names. 

2.2 EXAMPLES FOR UNDERSTANDING 

EXAMPLE 1: When the user defines both 'header label' and 'print label'.  

Case 1:  In such cases, the system generates the name of the column as described in the Header Label for the respective column. 

 Find below the column set setting.

While generating the report, certain parameter to be selected as mentioned below.

Report Output will be as follows:  As per our settings, when you execute the report column name will be printed as “Current Month”. Find below the screenshot for understanding.

EXAMPLE 2: When the user defines only 'header label' field and 'print label' field is kept as blank. 

CASE 2.1:  In case of Month as a period, the system generates the name of the column with combination of configuration settings on report column set tab for the respective column and report parameters. 

CASE 2.2: In case of Year as a period, the system generates the name of the column with combination of configuration settings on report column set tab for the respective column and report parameters.

While generating the report, certain parameter to be selected as mentioned below.

Note: The system fetches Period/ Year name in the report parameters from the Period control screen in the generated report.  Month name in report parameter and column header name is fetched from 'Name' field on Period tab of period control screen.  Year in report parameters is fetched from 'Year' field on Year tab, and column header name for current year is fetched from selected year in 'Calendar Year' field of Year tab of period control screen.

CASE 2.3: In case of Accumulation checkbox with Month as a period, the system generates the name of the column with combination of configuration settings on report column set tab for the respective column and report parameters.

While generating the report, certain parameter to be selected as mentioned below.

Report Output will be as follows:  

Note: Define years in the calendar are: 2020,2021,2022,2023,2024 and 2025. When user has defined calendar years starting from January to December. 

CASE 2.4: In case of Total as period, the system generates the name of the column with combination of configuration settings on report column set tab for the respective column and report parameters.

Note- 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025 year should be defined in period control.
