ABOUT NEW ENHANCEMENT- ASSET CATEGORY
1.1 WHAT IS ASSET CATEGORY
An asset category is a classification or grouping mechanism used to organize assets based on common characteristics, functions, or attributes.
VIENNA Advantage System keeps track of different categories of fixed assets such as Digital Asset, IT Related Asset, Land Asset, etc. With this enhancement, Organizations may categorize fixed assets in a logical manner, making it easier for users to search, locate, and manage them efficiently.
1.2 ASSET CATEGORY FIELD
“Asset Category” field is a list of values field with the values-Digital Asset, Equipment, IT Related Asset, Land Asset, Legal Asset, Vehicle Asset. It is displayed as follows:
This field is sequenced on the header of Asset screen. To navigate the Asset Category field on the Asset Screen, below given steps should be followed:
Screen Path – Menu > Asset Management > Asset OR User can manually type “Asset” in the Search Utility in Menu and the name of the respective screen will appear on the top as shown below. Toggle and create a “New Record” or edit the existing one.
1.2.1 ASSET HEADER TAB
In Vienna Advantage, Asset category is displayed on the header tab as shown below:
Enter or select the following information at the header of Asset screen:
Select the mandatory field Organization for which Asset is to be created.
Search Key will be auto-populated by the system.
Enter the name of the Asset that is to be created.
Enter the Description of the Asset.
Select the Asset Group from the drop down as required.
Enter the Guarantee Date of the Asset.
Enter In Service Date and Actual In Service Date of the Asset
Select the Asset Category of the Asset from the LOV. This field is the list of values field with the values-Digital Asset, Equipment, IT Related Asset, Land Asset, Legal Asset, Vehicle Asset.
Save the asset details by clicking on Save icon.
The Intangible Asset(s) having Asset Category as Digital Asset will only be selected as Fixed Asset Reference on the Digital Asset Screen.
